About Us
HOST International Thailand Foundation
HOST International (Thailand) Foundation is an international NGO that began operations in 2019 and was officially registered in 2021, specializing in community-based protection and local integration for displaced persons.
Since its inception, the organization has successfully piloted an Alternative to Detention (ATD) model in Thailand, providing essential case management that has transitioned over 300 children and adults from detention into safe community environments. Through seven years of collaboration with the Royal Thai Government and various partners, HOST has established itself as a trusted advocate for refugee rights, specifically aiming to end child detention and uphold children's rights within Thailand’s urban settings. Despite its modest size, the organization has self-funded its operations to demonstrate that community-based care is a more humane, practical, and sustainable model for the region.
Our Services
HOST International Thailand Foundation provides protection-focused support for vulnerable populations, including refugees, asylum seekers, and children at risk in Thailand urban settings. Our work focuses on child protection case management, mental health and psychosocial support, youth empowerment, and alternatives to detention. Through close collaboration with communities, government agencies, NGOs and partners, we promote safety, dignity, and sustainable well-being.
Child Protection
Case Management Support
Providing crucial support for urban refugee children facing challenges. Our approach integrates case management with community resources for effective intervention.
Mental Health and Psychosocial Services
This service utilizes a case management process to provide psychological support including counseling, group therapy, and training for children, youth, and caregivers facing accumulated stress.
Youth-Led Advocacy
The project aims to establish a group of youth refugees to equip them with skills in policy-making, campaigning, and communication. This will empower them to help themselves and their communities in the future.
Alternative to Detention (ATD)
Detention Coordination focuses on getting mothers and children out of immigration detention (IDCs) and into safe community shelters through government collaboration and ATD policies.

The global “Funding Cut” crisis has deeply affected humanitarian and human rights work, forcing many organizations — including ours — to pause and reassess how best to continue serving those who need us most. 💔
Over the past few months, HOST Foundation has conducted a comprehensive Reassessment to understand the far-reaching impacts of this crisis on vulnerable communities — especially women and children — and to ensure that our return is stronger, more focused, and more effective.
